How To Make A Killer Tri Tip With a Heavenly Marinade

A Tri Tip roast is a wonderful cut of beef. The tri tip is a 1-2 pound steak that comes from the bottom of the sirloin. The name “tri tip” refers to the odd shape of the muscle.
What is a Tri Tip?
Make A Marinade
In order to make this a truly great Tri Tip you are going to have to make a killer marinade. The ingredients are as follows
- 2/3 cup Red Wine
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbls Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbls honey
- 1 tbls Dijon mustard
- 1 tbls black pepper
- 1 tbls fresh garlic
- 1 tbls fresh thyme
- 1 tbls chopped fresh rosemary
Marinate the Meat
Next you will want to marinate the meat. Take your Tri Tip and put it in a zip-lock bag with the marinade. Put it in the fridge for four hours at least.
Cook The Tri Tip
To Cook this tri tip you are going to want to set your grill up for indirect low heat. cook the tri tip until it has reached an internal temperature of 135F.
Sear the Tri Tip
Once you have reached 130F take the tri tip and put it over the coals for direct heat and get a nice sear!
Serve the Tri Tip
When your tri tip is done take it and slice thinly against the grain of the meat, then serve and enjoy!
